Could it be true?
Did someone actually manage to put together a health insurance plan for us voice actors?…not musicians…not union members…not producers…but talent?
If it’s for real, then it’s YUGE.
Info, and a caveat below:
I only have the notice in my email queue…and I have not had a chance to do any research on this plan, so my blog today is not an endorsement, just an FYI.
I WILL add that a close voice actor friend I respect DID do a little digging, and pointed out that the word “INSURANCE” is specifically avoided on this site. It’s really a premium-based Medical Care Shared Risk Pool arrangement, he claims. Read the fine print and the FAQ’s, and you’ll find mention of “healthcare”, but not “insurance”.
Nevertheless, this sort of plan may be right for you, and it’s worth a look.
