“Discovered” a New Friend!

Of the four FaffCons on record, I’ve missed only one, and that’s the one Matt Baker showed up at.

My loss.

But we made up for it today over lunch at The Peppermill, a restaurant just a hop, skip, and a jump from KLAS-TV, where I work as a news guy.  Luckily, the folks at the Peppermill knew that, and gave us a great booth where we chatted away about voice-over stuff for about an hour, and then I gave him the nickel tour of the TV station.

I love it when visiting voice talent look me up on a Vegas visit.  It’s a kick to meet in real life voice talent I know mostly virtually…which is the magic of FaffCon, too.

Matt is the voice of much of what you hear on the Discovery Channel(s).  Living in Silver Springs, Maryland was a plus — it turns out —  for his career.  When The Discovery Channel moved in and transformed the town, he went and filled out an application. The rest is voice history.

Matt is an ex-Marine, an Military kid, a father, husband, and all-around accomplished voice actor I’m proud to now call friend.

Thanks for stopping by Matt!

That is AWESOME Dave! I have only been to one Faffcon, the last one, but I won’t miss another.
