Several emails recently have suggested that everyone might benefit from a side-by-side comparison of the three emerging technologies that seem poised to move into the space being slo-o-o-o-owly vacated by ISDN: hi-fidelity remote audio recording.
I can think of people like George Whittam who could probably do a better job of that than me. But that sort of analysis is exactly what Dan Lenard and I did at WoVoCon earlier this month. Yes, we were able to answer some basic curiosity of the state of the technology at this time…the problem is: it’s already changed, and continues to morph weekly. See this week’s blog on ipDTL’s affiliate commission offer.
The three heir-apparents that I refer to are (in no particular order):
- SoundStreak
- ipDTL
- Source-Connect NOW
Between them, there is much parity. SoundStreak is the most unique in its approach, but all three paradigms have merit.
Next month, watch for a VoiceOverXtra Webinar where Dan Lenard and I will reprise our evaluation of all three technologies, complete with guest visits from the three companies (not yet confirmed).
In the meantime, please take a moment to read-up on the latest announcement from Source-Connect, including greater clarification on their base pricing. There’s also news of an embed feature, and details about a WordPress Plug-in.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!
