Like this was any big surprise, eh? [I’ve only been pummeling everyone online with this eventuality for weeks!]
Well, you gotta draw the line somewhere, and this is the day we set for the release of my new VO Book: More Than Just A Voice: The REAL Secret to Voiceover Succcess.
As you know, this is a book for the spectrum of voice-over experience. Newbies will find advice and inspiration. Seasoned pros will find reminders, follow-up advice, and plenty new ideas.

WHO “WE” ARE
Just above, I mentioned that “we” decided to do the book release today. I said “we” because while I was the sole author and conceived the idea of publishing a book of my best blog articles, there was a team that surrounded me with support: Brett Bumeter is my web developer. Diana Soloman is a virtual assistant, editor, and sage who guided me through this whole process. Susan Sullivan is my other virtual assistant who handled much of the publicity, online, website content, FaceBook, and newsletter design. I also hired a graphics artist — Steve Reed — here in Las Vegas.
‘Truly amazing the amount of collaboration that can be done online, mostly through email — and with total trust — to get stuff done. I learned SO MUCH about self-publishing, and STILL have a lot to learn.
RETURN ON INVESTMENT?
I will be lucky to recover my personal funding investment in this book. So weird that it doesn’t matter. Sure, I’d love to come out ahead, but it’s not likely. Maybe the next one (yes, there is already another book in the works). But, like the blog I’ve been writing for 7 years with nary an ad, ever…this book is a labor of love that starts with a pay-it-forward attitude, and never looks back. Sure it’s gonna be nice to add the title “published author” on my resumé, but even that has a rather esoteric value. No… seriously?….It’s just great to see a plan carried through to completion. I wanted this, (hopefully for the right reasons) and now it’s here.
POR FAVOR, S’IL VOUS PLAIT?
While you’re on the Amazon site ordering your digital version of the book, would you mind offering up a few kind words about this publication? Amazon ranks books, in part, by the number of positive reviews. I hope you’ll find it in your heart to accompany those words with a “5-star” rating!
I hope you enjoy reading the book as much as I enjoyed the work of bringing it to you. It wasn’t easy, but I think you’ll find More Than Just A Voice: The REAL Secret to Voiceover Success, is packed with usable material for bringing more success to your voice-over business.

Thanks, Lucinda! Hope it meets your expectations!

I am almost 60….and perhaps too old….however…I have been told ALL my adult life….and even by people in “the business” that I have a “FABULOUS” voice….and that my accents are spot on. I would LOVE to do voice over work…but I hear that it’s almost impossible to break into…and even harder to sustain any kind of appreciable career.
Can ANYONE help me?
thanking you, in advance,

Claudia,
Almost 60! You’re just getting started. I’m 61, and just hitting my stride in VO. It’s not impossible to find success at all… but you must be committed and willing to take some chances…move out of your comfort zone.
As my book claims, though…it takes more than just a voice. How good are you at “hustling” your talents? It takes a sizeable amount of enterprising effort and good business know-how to make it as a freelancer.
Feel free to contact me if you want to talk more about it.
Thanks for reading my blog.
Best,
Dave Courvoisier
Dave,
I went to go purchase the book and it says it is out of print. Will more be coming? I don’t read books off of tablets. Thanks!
Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so
I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything.
Do you have any suggestions for newbie blog writers?
I’d really appreciate it.
Sorry that happened. I’d start with CopyBlogger.com….but there are only a million sites with suggestions about successful blogging… just google it, and get ready to do a lot of reading!
Let me know if I can help further,
