Set aside what you know of FaffCon or any other of the many great VoiceOver conferences you attended recently.
Oh, WoVOCon shared many of the elements of those great conferences, but this one was one of the best exercises in volunteerism and community contribution I can remember.
That’s because WoVOCon had the primary purpose of setting a future course for this relatively new industry trade association for voice-actors… and brainstorming was the word of the day.
Don’t get me wrong…we had plenty of fun, camaraderie, and open sharing of tips ‘n’ tricks.

Dan Lenard previewed a developing website that will blow the socks off those who think they have the P2P marketplace all figured out…only for WoVO members.
The sheer number and quality of ideas shared with all attendees present (50) made this event an incredibly successful affair. WoVO is on the verge of busting out of its growing pains. In every conversation, and every presentation, WoVO weaved in the following thought: “what can we do for WoVO, and what can WoVO do for you”.
Our foundation is laid. Now it’s time to start going viral…to get smart, polished, and bring in the support we earn and deserve. We continue to develop unique resources for our members, content that is helpful — like rate cards, best practices white papers for coaches, producers, and talent…mentoring programs, technical standards, valuable associations with industry partners and vendors, and most importantly, the voice that advocates, educates, and promotes important issues for voice-actors everywhere.
WoVO members are the best of the best, and this weekend in Las Vegas, it showed. Below are some photos of the faces and friends who made this conference so much fun, but watch in the weeks and months ahead to see the fruits of our professional friendships.
Please plan to come to the next one?
