MORE THAN JUST A VOICE: The REAL Secret to Voiceover Success will be released on Tuesday July 22nd, but since before last September, this book has been in the works.
Actually, without my realizing it, the book has been underway for years. If you’ve ever read this blog before, you know that I’ve been religiously writing an article-a-day, 5 days-a-week since 2007. Not all of it has been worthy of publishing. Some of it is not longer timely. But that still left enough material for a book: a really GREAT book…just tailor-made for you. “More Than Just a Voice” is like getting continuing education credits in voice-acting!
Let’s face it, we’re in the era of entrepreneurial. People would rather work for themselves than someone else. But for those who care to take the time to learn, the path to VoiceOver success is much the same as other freelance professions like writing, photography, or web-authoring. More than anything, the VO pro needs to develop a solid business sense, get education, and practice. In 250 pages of solid advice, I’ve hammered away at those concepts, in short, easy-to-digest chapters.
Authoring a book takes patience and passion. I never thought I had it in me, but having generated more than 2250 blog articles over 7 years, I knew the book was already written. It just had to be refined, filtered, categorized, and organized. What you’ll find with MORE THAN JUST A VOICE is a collection of only the best, most popular, and most commented-on blogs. But I’ve also added a lot more: lists, resources, links, and references not found on my blog.
Yes, writing a book is a marathon, but I’ve learned so much along the way, that I just KNEW you’d get a lot out of it too, ’cause you need MORE THAN JUST A VOICE to have a successful freelance voice-acting business.
