You know “video” is hot as Vegas in July…right? ‘Has been now for years, and really since the onset of the smartphone camera. ‘Doesn’t even matter, honestly, if it’s shot badly, is jerky, and has terrible lighting. People stumble and stammer and make no sense on a lot of the self-videos I see, and they still get views.
I mean, for maximum effect, you should do the best you can with good photo technique and setup, but from what I can see, no one really cares.
All the major social media platforms are making video easier. Facebook got onboard that train a couple of years ago, and so did Instagram, SnapChat, LinkedIn, and others.
Pinterest might be the last great social media platform to embrace video, but now they’re encouraging video posts too.
You may think you have your hands full with FB/Twitter/LinkedIn already, and Pinterest is just for fashion, food, and flowers, right? Wrong!
According to Sprout Social “Pinterest was the fastest standalone site in history to reach 10-million unique users.” It has 291 million monthly active users. Pinterest is especially frequented by females – 80% of users. Fully half of Millenials user Pinterest every month. There’s more…and the stats are convincing.
How to do it?
Well, there’s Pinterest’s own tutorial.
Here’s another walk-through from SoulArchMedia.
This one from TechCrunch.

What’s been MY experience with video on Pinterest so far? (cue the sheepish grin) Uh…nothing…but when I get it going, I’ll let you know how many new clients I get!
