We Have The Choice
Cynism can suck your soul.
I was all set to write a blog today titled “Race-to-the-Bottom MEETS sucker-born-every-minute”. Then I realized negativity had taken me over. I could join the naysayers or pay it forward. I’m choosing the latter.
GOOD deserves the chance to thrive, while divisiveness should die. It’s almost the end of the week, and I’ve got stuff to share! Good things!
First the Hacks
I’ve never been able to get goals to work for me. Oh, I mean I have generic goals; I want to be a success, to live as long as I can, to make good money…those kinds of goals. But I’ve always found when I improve my processes, I find greater progress in my VO business.
So, the first two web resources I want to share with you today are productivity hacks. Sure, these are ALL OVER the internet, but I’ve checked out these two sites, and I think they’re worthy. Both are from business2community.com:

On To the Plosives
You know…popping your “P’s”, and making a big distracting disturbance in your recording.
This tip comes from the folks at Sweetwater, an online equipment vendor that’s the friend of many a voice actor. Craig Anderton (audio engineer) has put together a helpful article called:

I record on my Mac with Ocenaudio (a free DAW that works on PC, Macs, and Linex) because it’s got “punch & roll” capability. I can also put in markers that then I can still see using Twisted Wave, where I do my editing and processing. Seamless! Exploit the features you need where ever they are.
Another helpful trick for preventing popped P’s is to smile on any P word. Try it, it works!
