This is the second time in the last couple of months that I’ve openly endorsed Erik Sheppard’s “The Outspoken” video series.

I do it because he’s spot on….because his honesty is refreshing…and because I totally agree with him.

Often, Erik is joined by his lovely wife Lindsay and they banter about all sorts of topics that are helpful for those of us constantly adjusting to the vagaries of this business.  Bravo!

But Erik is just as apt to “go off” on something deeply bothering him, and this particularl episode (seen below) holds back nothing on the evils of (especially) one certain online casting site or so-called Pay-to-Play (P2P).

Yes, yes…we know they’re here to stay (or so they tell us), but they don’t have to be ruthlessly abusive and smile while they’re doing it.

Just watch his message.  Take the 15 minutes to listen to Erik.  He knows of what he speaks.  And BTW, he’s probably unwilling to publicly name the service he verbally attacks, for the same reason WoVO won’t do it:  because this company is highly litigious.

If you really have no clue which P2P it is, then write me at [email protected], and I’ll happily PM you back with the revelation.

No, all P2P’s shouldn’t be painted with the same brush, but just let me say this: if you rely solely on these online casting sites for your work, you will never truly and fully attain your potential in voice acting.

Thanks Erik, for shpeaking de trute!
