Adobe Apologist

Several days ago, I posted about the special pricing Adobe was offering for its Creative Cloud Suite.  $39/mo, instead of $49 for the entire collection of 20 programs.

I wavered, I fussed, I said no/yes/no/yes/no/yes/no, and then finally “yes”.  Aside from being an absolutely hopeless geek, my rationale and justification was that I was already paying $20/mo for Adobe Audition CC only.  For $19 more, I got 19 more programs…including some of the iconic Adobe biggies:  Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, InDesign, and more.  PLUS I get Adobe Audition CC 2017…which has some nice updates.  I also get 20 Gigs of Creative Cloud storage, and seamless automatic updates on all the programs.  The deal is good on any two computers registered in my name.

But here’s the best part:  You also get access to all those programs (that they have available) on your mobile platform.  So I’m now using the iPhone app for Photoshop, Draw, Spark, Clip, Capture, and more…all in the same deal.

I’ll admit, there’s a pretty steep learning curve to get really adept at most Adobe products…but I have fun learning (like I said:  total geek).

The jury is still out on whether this is a high ROI deal….but I’m giving it a try.  I’ll let you know.

BTW, for you geeks…Techsmith’s Camtasia 9 is out now, too…and it’s far and above their best offering yet. ($200. Ouch!) So much depth and breadth to this product, that it could easily become my go-to video editor.  But wait!  I just bought Adobe Premiere…oh well!

Looks like Adobe’s “Black Friday” pricing ran out, but keep a watch.  I bet they bring it back for Christmas this season, yet.

Maybe your loved one can find it in their heart to put it under the tree for you… especially if you — like me — plan to make video a cornerstone of your marketing strategy for 2017.
