YouTube Bulks Up

youtubeThe hottest online video site in the Milky Way…the second biggest search engine on the planet…the world’s de facto TV station is getting better.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it till I’m red in the face:  Voice Actors cannot ignore the value of video in their marketing.

The fact that Google owns YouTube only multiplies all it’s advantages exponentially.

Sure, Vimeo is great.  Screencast is handy.  But YouTube is the 8,000 lb Gorilla, and cannot be ignored.  Now it’s getting even better.

VidCon attendees in Anaheim this week heard it first.  YouTube is adding more value, more features, getting even MORE social, and that’s just for starters.

The new functionality will roll out over the next few months, but perhaps the biggest announcements are that YT is launching a new studio app that is already available for Android, and an iOS version will come soon. The YouTube Creator will let you manage your content on mobile devices.

Other features coming:

  • 60 fps video
  • sound effects added to the audio library
  • fan funding
  • subtitles from fans
  • creator credits

Not sure how you can use video in your audio business?  I’ve written on this extensively, and you can get your VO business on the video track by clicking on VIDEO Part III, which has links to other blogs I’ve written on this topic.  Suffice it to say, you cannot afford to ignore this medium.  It’s what the world is responding to online.  You need to be in that space, and YouTube puts you there like no other program.

I’m just here to put this on your radar screen.  Others have written about YouTube’s new changes, and links to their blogs are articles are below:
