‘Never Known Pride Like This

DSC_0267-aThis blog is not about voice-over.  It’s about being a father…a proud father.

As I flew into the land of Cliff Zellman, Brad Venable, Bettye Zoller and other VO friends in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Friday, I knew this would not be a trip about voice-acting… it would be about the 23 years leading up to this day.

THIS  weekend would be about the rite-of-passage called College Graduation.  My daughter, Madeleine, was graduating from Texas Christian University (TCU).  She would graduate Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Kinesiology as a student athlete (soccer) from a D-1 school.

My other two daughters, Grace (the only other one so far to give me this kind of pride on this day), a graduate of the Univ of Illinois, and Ellory, a Sophomore at Chapman Univ in Orange Co. CA. were with my wife and I for the occasion.

Parents reading this blog will know what I’m talking about.  It coulda been kindergarten, or Jr. High…but something about college makes it even more special…and it doesn’t have anything to do with the cost.  All of my girls have managed to get scholarships to help with that.

No, I think the pride comes from the joy I see in her eyes of a thing well done…of knowing she’s happy, and can stand on her own quite well, thankyou!

So thanks for indulging me today in my fatherly pride.

BTW,  there are many great things coming to the blog…starting this week, so please do come back!
