How Others See Us

binocsWe THINK we know what the client wants.

We BELIEVE clients see us the way we want to be perceived.

We do our homework, attend conferences, get coaching, listen to webinars, take branding seriously, and talk to our peers in online forums.  The sum total of our diligence positions us for what we hope is our best foot forward in the market.

And yet… a lot of people have no idea what we do, or what voice they want.  Often, they turn to marketing, PR, and communications resources for advice.

The following is an example of what those clients are being told.  It’s not far off the mark, but it’s not exactly what we would probably say about ourselves or what we hope is the level of understanding in our field.

The article comes from a communications, marketing, branding blogger who welcomes guest bloggers.  The guest blogger on THIS day (Monday), is a “marketing coordinator” in Toronto, and writes:

4 ASPECTS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING VOICE TALENT FOR YOUR BUSINESS.

Take a moment to check it out.  Remember this is written by a marketing expert specifically to an audience of people who have no idea what to look for when hiring a voice talent.
