Sweetwater is located in Fort Wayne, IN…in the heart of the Midwest. Maybe that’s why I like ’em.
I’d say they’re among the top 5 audio equipment distributors in the country. I like to repurpose on this blog the newsletters I get from them, ’cause I think they have good deals, excellent people, and great product support. Maybe you’re looking for something just now they’re putting on special pricing.

Working with top-notch VO talent and audio engineer Ben Wilson for the last couple of weeks has sent me on a fact-finding mission through my audio chain. For starters, I found out that my Sennheiser MKH416 probably has a damaged condenser and I’ve enlisted my local dealer (Guitar Center) to help me send it back for repairs. I hear Sennheiser is pretty good in taking care of their customers.
What I also found in my audio quality investigation is that I probabaly needed a new sound card. ‘Trouble is, I could barely find someone who wanted to sell me a traditional PCI card for my motherboard. “Old technology” they said. I ended up going with a Lexicon I-Onix U42S audio interface. So far so good.
But…whenever you make a big change in your set-up like that, there are countless other adjustments to make… ya know? I love/hate that. I like to tinker, but sometimes, you just want to get it up and running.
