What do you do to totally take yourself out of yourself?

Saturday morning at 6am, I left Las Vegas for Keystone, Colorado…on 4 wheels. By Sunday night at midnight I was home again. 1,584 miles round trip, and I never listened to one bar of music, nor one
word of an audiobook.
I drive with my thoughts, and the sound of my SSR’s 6-liter engine…and and all of it is cathartic.
Saturday evening, I spent at a condo in Keystone with 4 old friends from St. Louis — Kirkwood, MO to be exact. I laughed so hard, my sides were splitting.
In between, I witnessed the unbelievable unique beauty of Utah, Colorado, and Arizona. We live in a world of stunning natural wonder, and in the humility of that, I took myself out of myself.
